What Size do I Need?

After customizing thousands of tables for customers around the Country, we have certainly become pros at picking the right size for the right person.
The lessons provided below will ensure that you pick the right table that will meet all your needs!
Pointer 1: Dining Area
A dining table can be an illusively large piece of furniture and you should always take into account the space around it.
As a rule of thumb in the interior design world, you should want at least 3 feet of space between the table and the exterior to comfortably sit in a chair and move around your space. So whether this table is for a multi use area or a dining room-
Start by measuring the length and width of the area, then subtract about six feet from those two measurements to get a target dining table region.
Pointer 2: Seating capacity
Knowing how many people will be sitting at your table is always important. Chair width can differ, but as an overall rule:
For Rectangular Tables:
4’ tables are perfect for 2
6’ tables seat 6 loved ones
8’ tables seat 8 loved ones
10’ tables seat 10 loved ones
12’ tables seat 12 loved ones
Please note that anything 8’ and above is a custom order table.
For Round Tables:
48” tables seat 4 loved ones
54” tables seat 5-6 loved ones
60” tables seat 6-7 loved ones
For Square Tables:
46” tables seat 4 loved ones
55” tables seat 4-8 loved ones
60“ tables seat 8 loved ones
66” tables seat 8 loved ones
Pointer 3: Painters Tape
Using Painters Tape will help you visualize your table space and ensure that you have adequate space to move around. Draw the length and width of your table on the floor and adjust accordingly. Only need a 3’x5’ table? We can make that for you!
